Hello all

Since my total meltdown.
I reinstalled pve 9 several weeks ago and added my HA and truenas vms.

Day before yesterday my truenas cli was not working. The vm was started and i did get the regular IP address in the vm summary.
however i could not reach the ip address nor was evident in my routers network map.

I tried to access the truenas vm shell within proxmox.

My keystrokes from my pc, from which i am trying to access and manage proxmox, would not register in the truenas vm console or the Home assistant vm shell.

however when i try to access the tailscale ct i can
access the container's console and log in

what am i doing wrong or what mistake am i making?

thank you in advance for any assistance given

Hi,

Try to go to the VM → Hardware → Display and switch to "Default" or "SPICE" if it's set to "None" or "Serial".
Also check Keyboard Layout under VM → Options.
If you're using NoVNC, try switching to SPICE (you may need to install the SPICE client).
If SPICE is already in use, try NoVNC instead.

Thank you @Sviat

I installed proxmox in order to learn and in an effort to reduce my electrical bills.

On proxmox i had truenas home assistant opnsens pi hole and now tailscale

This in my opinion over the past 3 months with the upgrades an updates during the past 3 months i found it complicated and time consuming

I therefore abandoned the idea of proxmox and Home assistant OS on a laptop (this also will have more power and ram that afforded on the dell plus it has the benefit of a battery), Truenas was installed on the same server as when it was a vm on proxmox and opensens and tailscale will be on a new mini and pihole on a cheap laptop i have

Now i can shutdown the server at night and leave the minis and laptops on at night

Thank you just the same for your help. i was getting to like proxmox
