I have been working on this for way too long and I just cannot find what I need to figure out how to fix my issue. Here is my error:

Code:

Now, I have this in interfaces:
Code:
auto lo

iface lo inet loopback

iface eno1 inet manual

auto vmbr0

iface vmbr0 inet static

        address 192.168.1.99/24

        gateway 192.168.1.1

        bridge-ports eno1

        bridge-stp off

        bridge-fd 0

iface wlp26s0 inet manual

source /etc/network/interfaces.d/*

and my resolv.conf is

Code:
search proxmox

nameserver 1.1.1.1

nameserver 1.0.0.1

nameserver 8.8.8.8

and here are my repositories

Code:
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian bookworm main contrib

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian bookworm-updates main contrib

deb http://security.debian.org bookworm-security main contrib

deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve bookworm pve-no-subscription

deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/ceph-squid bookworm no-subscription

# deb https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve bookworm pve-enterprise

I am about to go completely insane. I have spent over 4 hours on this I have changed every line of text I can think of. I have added removed, re-added, removed, or disabled every single repository and I am unable to update the system. I don't know what else to try. I can't ping anything as far as I can tell. I have watched how many "how to videos" or blogs about this but nothing I try from anything works. I just don't know what else to do.

Please edit that to use use code blocks and use them in the future too View attachment 94663
Let's start with the simple things
Bash:
ping 192.168.1.1
ping 1.1.1.1
nslookup google.com 192.168.1.1
nslookup google.com 1.1.1.1
If you have a keyboard and monitor connected also give this a try and share the result.
Sorry, I am brand new to this. Everything I am getting is an error connecting. The first two i get 192.168.14.99 icmp_seq=1 destination host unreachable and the other two are timed out no servers could be reached

What is your nic? I have two computers with intel e1000e and learned about the offloading bug which results in the conditions you have, if so search around on here for the fix.

I really wanted to see the whole output and judge myself so please share. Until I see that try this, then check if apt update still complains
Bash:
echo "nameserver 192.168.1.1" > /etc/resolv.conf

Failed again I am afraid. Same errors as before. Something is wrong with this. I cannot seem to connect to anything. Impact, I did run your code and still no.

My NIC is just the built in for the Asus motherboard X470. I have a Ryzen 5 1500x with 16 GB RAM, a 1TB NVME and an old 1550TI graphics card.

I'm guessing your network settings are wrong then or there might be a ip conflict. Try the keyboard and monitor method above to see what ip you get via DHCP.

Make sure you turn off the firewall at all three levels, at least temporarily. There's one at the data center level, one at the node level, and one at the VM level.

I'm also new on proxmox but it seems that the problem is purely network issue.
Assuming your proxmox servers has the IP 192.168.1.99 and the router/gateway (with internet access) has the IP 192.168.1.1

If this is the case, do you have internet access with other device in the same network (192.168.1.x)?
Do you have the GW configured as "all blocked" except whitelisted?
What is the output Pinging to 192.168.1.1?

I have the solution! I was finally able to get the update to take and wanted to make sure I posted the results. So the issue was with the gateway. So, everyone was kind of right and kind of wrong. With AT&T Fiber, the gateway isn't 192.168.1.1, it's 192.168.1.254. As soon as I switch the gateway to the correct IP I was able to ping everything and everyone with zero issues. I still had to update the key but once it was online and actually connected that was a breeze!

Thanks everyone for all your help! I am off to try and learn some more stuff! :)
