Hi labs,
Previously I passed mulitiple server GPUs like the tesla m40 and haven't tried much from consumer hardwares, so it came to me as a shock to find that PCIe passthrough isn't just the select from list and done like all I was doing. I am unable to find my 9070xt from the passthrough list in the webui and I am wondering if there are ways to get it working now?
Maybe what I need is a step by step guide if any kind man can post here?
Many thanks in advance.

Although consumer hardware is always a bit iffy on whether it will work.
- AMD consumer card in Windows using PCIe passthrough is usually non-functional (driver detects and refuses to load it), the open source drivers in Linux generally work.
- With AMD CPU on most consumer boards, you may be sharing PCIe lines and/or IOMMU groups with other hardware so pass-through is a no-go if that hardware is critical to operation of the host (it usually is critical such as the memory, disk or network controller). Prosumer and server boards (Epyc) generally don’t have that issue. There are workarounds, but note you are then giving the guest potential hardware-level access to other host hardware.
- For NVIDIA cards you need to pay for a license for their vGPU drivers but most modern consumer cards still work with it, passthrough doesn’t need a license and almost always works (given you don’t have an AMD consumer board)
