7.2 uninstallable on Dell R710

Hi,
Installation attempt of 7.2 on a Dell R710 is as follows:

1. Shows quick GRUB line
2. Shows boot menu
3. Select first option
4. See kernel lines in nice TUI window
5. See init start
6. See change of font on terminal.
7. Screen blanks and stays that way.
8. Numerous retries.....
9. Retry once with kernel line addition "vga=794" as mentioned somewhere online only gives very shortly visible reply 'Deprecated. Please try /something/'

Switching to 7.1 installer and all works fine.
