I have a three node cluster and would like to remove one host, leaving the cluster with two hosts. I have a system setup to serve as a QDevice. I went to add it to the cluster before doing anything else, and received this error: "Clusters with an odd node count are not officially supported!".

My question is, what is the proper procedure to follow?

A QDevice is indeed intended for an even number of nodes in a cluster. Still, I think it is the right order to first add a QDevice and only then remove one of your three nodes.

EDIT: Of course you could do it the other way around, just make sure none of the two remaining nodes goes down!
