We have a cluster of three PVE 8.4.1. On the first node, I noticed high memory usage (80%) for the node but not for the one VM hosted on that node. I opened a terminal and ran "top" and it showed the top process as "kvm" using 300-500% fluctuating CPU, high memory, and a TIME + of 10 weeks. I figured I'd migrate the VM to another node and reboot the first node.
The process migrated to the second node with the VM. On the second node, "kvm" shows as 500-1000% CPU usage, and a TIME+ of 260 though it is incrementing at an accelerated pace. For example, it went from 260:35.9 to 274:22.48 in about 90 seconds.
The VM itself is running fine and the resource usage in the GUI shows normal. My plan is to shut down the VM this evening, reboot the nodes, and bring the VM back online, but I figured I'd check here and see if anyone else has experienced this type of thing.
