Hi,
New storages very interesting feature. Thank you.

I have question:
How can I add directory on slave node to storage list?
On master I did it without any problem but on slave I can not do it.

Thanks

Storage definitions are cluster wide - they are synced to all nodes from the master. So if you add a directory that directory should be available on all host (even when it is not shared storage). You need to create all storage definitions on the master node.

Thanks Dietmar.

I created directory on master HDD and added to storage definition. And this work. You right.

But question is How can I add directory which on slave HDD to storage definition?

Sorry Dietmar. Probably I didn't understand you completely.

Is this mean that If i will create this Directory on master HDD content this directory will be copied to all nodes?
will I have a lot of copies of same directory?
Or it will have one copy on Master and nodes will access to it like NFS

Sorry I just trying to understand how work new storage...

No, nothing will be copied. But the directory need to exist on all nodes. Like the default 'local' storage. Got it?

thanks for clear it.

Is this directory will be automatically created on all nodes or I should create it?

I want to create this because:
1. I don't have dedicated NAS (yet, I am going to install openfiler or FreeNAS later).
2. I think one of simple solution to increase HDD space in cluster is just add HDD to node and share it. It is mean make on one of nodes NFS. And I thought that you add possibility to share drives in your new storage.

I guess it will be very comfortable to have in graphic interface of proxmox possibility to fast configure NFS and other shares on slave nodes (not only master).

Now I can only add new HDD to master and share it but can not do it for slaves (at least from web-interface).

We support using shared storage like NFS and iSCSI, but Proxmox VE is no storage server. We will not add such things to the web interface.

I guess still don't understand you. If you want to setup an NFS server you can do that on any node. Then you can simple add that NFS storage on the web interface and use it on all nodes.
