pct restore unable to parse version info

I am trying to move containers from 1.9 to 4.1. I do the vzdump and do the pct restore on new box. It get this error: unable to parse version info 'squeeze/sid' I can't get the restore to complete. How do I get around this. Looks like a bug. Even tried the -ostype option. That didn't work...
