high cpu load unresponsive pmg-smtp-filter

Maybe some help out there? My server gets unresponsive after a while (sometimes once per day, sometimes less). First I checked the hyper-visor (VMWare) and the host but it happens on other hosts and other storage too. When the server is unresponsive, one core is at 100% (2 cores, 4 GB RAM) and...
