So I've gone through what I think are the docs regarding PROXMOX and fibre channel presented LUN's. I'm using an older 3PAR 7200 in my lab, attempting to get shared storage between a PROXMOX cluster. So far, I have a fully operational cluster with a shared NFS volume, which performs...
We are looking into migrating our current 3 node setup to ProxMox
However, we have our storage all hosted on a FiberChannel connected HP 3PAR,
is there any way to get both shared storage and snapshots working?
I used to use standalone PVE hosts, with local attached disks. Nice and tiny setups :)
Now I have a chance to set up PVE cluster with shared storage. It involves some like 2 groups each consists of "6 hosts and 1 SAN". All hardware to be rented so we can make some adjustments at this point...
we have several clusters and use a HPE 3PAR SAN.
On versions below 5 the paths are setup without issue when I run rescan-scsi-bus etc but on version 5 this doesnt work and the 3PAR virtual volumes can be seen but wont be mounted via mapper.
1 - Did anything change in the way...
we ran into a pretty difficult to find bug with FC (would happen also with iSCSI) runing proxmox 4.3
Actually this is not a proxmox bug, but in kernel Version 3.19+ a bug in the SCSI Stack was fixed which makes using 3PAR Storage impossible.
the error in dmesg looks like this:
