would love it. This is not a "production" machine. I was simply trying to setup a kvm workstation to run a Windows and MacOS vm at the same time. My Windows partition boots nicely (just with no network).
I'm using an Asus z490 prime a which has a single I225-V nic. Works fine in Windows and Manjaro/Fedora linux. On proxmox it is down on boot. I log in as root after install and the network is done. No error in dmesg or anywhere else. Doing a systemctl restart networking.service brings it...
I didn't jot down what it said initially but I know it was successful. Trying install.sh again yields this:
Error! DKMS tree already contains: igc-5.4.0-7642.46
You cannot add the same module/version combo more than once.
Module: igc/5.4.0-7642.46 already built for kernel 5.4.65-1-pve/4

Followed your instructions. No change on my end. My network is down on boot but I don't need to replug. if I just do a sudo systemctl restart networking.service it starts working. I have no tried it in a vm but at this point it doensn't look any different for me.
Correct. This NIC is on many boards and to have something so completely broken is just bad. I've been trying for weeks to get this working and no one has been able to help me.
how did that work? I tried to install Debian 10.5 but it didn't have igc support out of the box. At least I couldn't pick it in the installer. Did you a newer kernel on there somehow? And are you using i225-v?
we may be out of luck. pve will be on 5.4 kernel for quite some time and right now I don't know of a way to update the kernel to 5.8. I'm exploring other options.
ok. It's pretty basic. Machine has a single nic. Private server in my home. out of the box install. Had to add bridge_maxwait 10 to my /etc/network/interfaces file in order to get the network to work at boot.
Using bridge of vmbr0 (the one the installer setup).
