Hi! Is this specific problem something that was working for you before version 6.2-4?
Is it just VMs that you're backing up and are there many?
Could you post the rest of your backup/vzdump output? I guess there could be some other interesting messages in there.
Is there anything interesting in the verbose output (ifup -v vmbr0)?
Could you also post the output of dmesg | grep enp4s0 and the NIC's entry from the output of the command lspci -v?
Just to make sure I understand correctly, you can ping other devices within your local network, however the computer won't connect to the internet? Are you sure that you have set the router ip as gateway?
Could you post the output of ip a, ip r and ip neigh?
It seems that all the interfaces are down, but no obvious set up problems from the output. Try ifup -a, and see if that fixes the problem. If not, could you post the output of cat /etc/network/interfaces?
If the computer can't connect to the router, this could be a problem with the default gateway. Could you post the output of cat /etc/network/interfaces?
Do you also have proxmox running inside a vm, or is it the host operating system?
I believe that incremental mode is only supported for running VMs. This decision was justified in a previous response found here: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/backup-vm-pve-to-pbs-how-to-enable-incremental.72843/post-325682
Assuming that you mean you can start the container successfully, i.e., no errors on startup, I would like to suggest a (possibly silly) fix. It seems that there is a bug in the GUI's console that results in the container showing a blank terminal screen at first. However if you press enter, the...
Okay, I assume there's some problem with your network configuration, as it wouldn't normally be down by default, but as a first step you can try ifup vmbr0. If that doesn't work, could you post the output of cat /etc/network/interfaces?
To quickly address your question, the CEPH cluster network, which handles object replication and recovery traffic, should be on a separate network that is not reachable from a public network or the internet. This is done both for performance and security purposes...
This page documents alot of information about Qemu/KVM with Proxmox https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Qemu/KVM_Virtual_Machines.
Under the section "BIOS and UEFI" you can find information on what you're looking for.
The choice between the two only concerns the booting options and capabilities of a...
As these are two different file systems, it is not possible to simply convert from one to the other without formatting the drive. You would need to take an intermediate step of backing up your lvm pool (or the vm data from it) to an external drive, in order to later transfer it back to a newly...
What is the distribution of the VM?
Have you tried setting the MTU in the VM manually, with something like ip link set enp2s0f0 mtu 9000 or ifconfig enp2s0f0 mtu 9000 up and restarting the interfaces (with ifdown IFACE & ifup IFACE)?
If this works, these changes can also be made persistent by...
Yeah, that message means you are not connected. It's strange that it also does not work with Ethernet..
Could you post the output of: cat /etc/network/interfaces
And also: ip a
It looks like grub can not find the root partition. I have seen this happen before after installing Debian 10, but am not entirely sure what causes it. However, I can tell you how I fixed it.
In grub rescue:
1.) list available partitions: ls
- this will list the disks and partitions.
2.) on...
No worries, this is what the forum is for ;)
ping 8.8.8.8 would show bytes being transferred if connected to the internet.
Also, I assume you are trying to connect over wifi, right?
The first thing to do would be to ensure you are entering the IP address correctly. Especially note that Proxmox connects via httpS.
Second, have you set the server up with an IP address that is within your home network's netmask?
Does the laptop have an internet connection? (try ping 8.8.8.8)
