Great to read that ! I'm not on so big project at this time but pushing on it ;) and on a company that has approx the same natural cybersecu on its core
Hi rob,
I did with success zap the drive (with a combinatio of vgremove / pvremove and sfdisk before zapping). But I did have a sdg message (and no sdg harddrives) that is annoying.
I've been replaying this procedure today on a ceph octopus. What we need to fix was the ceph -k stuf. ceph.client.admin.keyring was not anymore on /etc/ceph/ but direcly on the cluster so : /etc/pve/priv/. This imply that your conf will be pointing to the same admin keyring which honestly I...
Hi,
I had a strange issue on a "future ceph volume" that already have lvm volume :
pveceph osd create /dev/sdf
/dev/sdg: open failed: No medium found
/dev/sdg: open failed: No medium found
device '/dev/sdf' is already in use
any idea

Hi all !
this is relative to a pro design of PVE HCI cluster for k8s & bucket style ceph . We planned to use HP DL 360G10 with fiber network card. The point is : what is, from your experience the best reliable network card. I've not enough XP on PVE :
Marvell : HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port SFP+...
ok thanks ! and this connection is needed at every update or only for the first time subscription ? Product that shall be delievered on this plateform is designed for security on dark sites so my backend cluster network is not intended to connect to internet in anyway after first installation.
Hi all !
I have a
"Invalid response from server: 500 Can't connect to shop.maurer-it.com:443 (certificate verify failed) (500)"
which is not that incredible considering my site as a grey site (not totally dark but heavily filtered ;) I can use another way to activate my server ID ?
Nobody has used Promxox as a nested minikube server ? I've seen a lot regarding to KVM / libvirt but it cannot be reproduced as is on PVE. Please help me :)
Hi,
I'm trying to use a proxmox server for mounting a minikube to follow a tuto, but as far as I understand, it's not OOB. Minikube/kubectl package are ok (via brew in an Ubuntu 20.04 VM). I've activated host CPU driver as seen on a post on this forum. So I tryed
minikube start --vm-driver...
Hi all !
Even if I know that there is more than 1 way to do it, here is a way that worked for me. Please note that since it was on a POC I found it useful to use self signed certificate, don't do this on production cluster ;)
apt install ceph-mgr-dashboard (on all service manager nodes)
ceph...
ok, ! before doing that, i tryed to investigate this strange behaviour. and i tryed to investigate as stated in other thread :

Hi all,
following my installation (details here) : of Ceph on Proxmox for multi purpose (object bucket & HCI VM for K8s cluster), I'm facing well skewing :
clock skew detected on mon.srv158ilo151, mon.srv161ilo150mon.srv158ilo151 clock skew 0.79889s > max 0.05s (latency 0.000515921s)...
Thanks for this Aaron, after a lot of reading on ceph & proxmox documentation & forum / blog on this :
I now have my OSD, pools / rules & volumes for VMs. For CephFS, after some thiniking around future architecture, i'll not use it at this time. I'm now checking for S3 / RGW configuration &...
Hi all !
My totally new POC HCI cluster is up and running. Now I'm trying to configure CEPH.
So for My 3 nodes (1 SSD and 4 HDD each)
+ I have a dedicated network.
+ I installed a monitor & a manager on each nodes,
+ I created an OSD for each disk so 15 OSD so far.

Here is...
well you're definitly right I need to be more precise : I wrote about corosync communication. I resolved this question by the best way in a POC case : trying, making a mistake and reinstalling all and trying again ;)
So the answer is "don't forget to configure the link0 on your first node"...
Tadum !
Ok after a brillant class relative to PROXMOX VE & CEPH with ODISIO, I'm going to activate a real HCI cluster well on a POC for the beginning ;)
Si I have : 4 good 1/2u nodes with :
+ 4HDD & 2 SSD each (One for serv install + Write cache),
+ 2 CPU w/ 10 core,
+ 192 Go RAM,
+ 2 x...
A general question : is it a good practice to add sysstat as - Brendan ask for - to an hypervisor like PVE ? or is their some alternate package ? thx !
