can't ping gateway ! no internet access no gui access
so, I just figured it out... in reply to my own problem above and hopefully others too: /etc/networking/interfaces the vmbr0 doesn't have any dns-nameservers defined. I added in googles 8.8.8.8 and restarted network services with: /etc/init.d/networking restart and everything started working...- Foxcub
