Can't add some cluster nodes after upgrade to 4.x

Hi dietmar, as i mentioned I already solved it and added the the corresponding syslog. but why did it happen? i had quorum because at least 11 nodes were already in the new cluster. the only thing i had to do is reboot the first node and it started working again. edit: I could not see a...

Can't add some cluster nodes after upgrade to 4.x

I had to restart the master node. syslog: pve-ha-lrm[4538]: unable to write lrm status file - unable to open file '/etc/pve/nodes/hostnamemasternode/lrm_status.tmp.4538' - Device or resource busy

Can't add some cluster nodes after upgrade to 4.x

Hi, i tried to upgrade a cluster today but some hosts can't be added again to the new cluster. i upgraded all hosts from datacenter1 and the first node became the master of the new cluster. the first node of second datacenter could also be added to the cluster, but all other nodes failed...

ceph show custom rulesets in GUI

hi, i have two minor suggestions for people that use custom rulesets. I can understand if you guys argue that you don't want to support customization of the ceph stack. 1. show mounted storage size based on "ceph df" rather than "rados df" this includes rule patterns like different root...

qemu-img not working correctly with vmdk file (since PVE3.2)

same problem here, ova imorted smoothly into virtualbox. i had to use a debian/ubuntu original qemu-img binary to convert the disk image. it would be a nice (maybe enterprise relevant feature) to directly import vmware files into proxmox. i dont mind using the console if it works, but others may...

GlusterFS with RAW and qcow2 images

Hi, today I could continue my testing. It just happened to me with a 2 node replicated setup. distributed and striped setup of the 2 nodes work with image creating, even with qcow2. I also ran into the issue that the local fuse mount on the proxmox node performs with 80 MB/s and the local...

GlusterFS with RAW and qcow2 images

@dietmar so i would just create it on the gluster storage via gui and update the /etc/pve/qemu-server/myVM.conf to use gluster://server.domain.com:24007/myglustervol/myvm.img ? Or do I get it wrong and it is fully supported throught the mounted GlusterFS storage plugin? There it looked as if it...

GlusterFS with RAW and qcow2 images

I came up with one more question, are you planning to support direct Gluster Storae of qemu using libgfapi without a mounting section? like qemu-img create -f qcow2 gluster://server.domain.com:24007/myglustervol/myvm.img 5G

GlusterFS with RAW and qcow2 images

As I mentioned earlier it's just a test setup and I was curious about it. I'll test it after your update again and add my experience to this thread.

GlusterFS with RAW and qcow2 images

@spirit i setup a dedicated storage cluster not running proxmox. qcow2 creation on local raid1 setup was running normally. but when i tried to migrate to the glusterfs storage with qcow2 i got these i/o hangs. migrating as raw was running without problems. my setup was like this: 2x latest...

GlusterFS with RAW and qcow2 images

As i mentioned above i was using latest proxmox plugin and ran into the qcow2 performance issues which were the main reason for this thread (topic). So, does anyone have a clue why these are so slow?

GlusterFS with RAW and qcow2 images

Hi, I was able to test a Storage Cluster backend for Proxmox yesterday. Since I only had to Server, which should run a replicated scenario and be able to add more servers I chose GlusterFS. The setup was really easy and I could add it using the PVE Gui and locally. I got 2 Server running a...

    Updates for Proxmox VE 2.2

The apt-get upgrade process removed all my ssh keys. Not exhilarating in the morning if you close all update ssh connections after the upgrade. I disabled password logins on most of the machines. Now it seems that I have to grab a local shell.

    vzdump and multicore compression

it seems that I have to increase the LVM snapshot size. the backup job runs forever and does not exit with an error. I had a job running for 2 days (backup of a 1 TB VM on a local 1 GB NFS share) I'll try again with lzo compression and increased snapshot size.

    vzdump and multicore compression

Hi, I have some issues backing up on a remote NFS share. Using compression (gzip/lzo) it take extremely long to backup all machines. During backup not all cores are used for compression. Is that an issue with vmtar? How can I convince vzdump to use all available cores? regards

After Upgrade KVM Process can't be killed

Hi, i experienced a bug after the 2.0 upgrade. There were some issues that lvscan did execute properly, so I decided to reboot the machine. All vms could except one could be shutdowned using the web interface. The last kvm node can't be stopped, even with kill -9 <pid> I found some kernel...

    ARP problem with 2.6.32 Kernel

thanks for pointing it out. I already tried the sysctl settings from http://wiki.openvz.org/Installation_on_Debian the rp_filter might be the solution, i'll have a try and sorry for not finding this thread.

    ARP problem with 2.6.32 Kernel

Hi, i tried to migrate a 2.6.18 server to the 2.6.32 Kernel branch, but I have problems using a static arp table. There is one PHY adapter and two bridges not connected to the PHY interface. When I upgrade the kernel, only one subnet works. I set the arp entries with a script with "arp -Ds...
