Hello, i've solved this error by replacing the lines UPSTYPE usb DEVICE /dev/ttyS0 by UPSTYPE usb DEVICE in /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf For what reason ever, it's configured with usb and non-blank-device by default, which is not working.
