    Cannot access via VNC

I didn't manage via this recommended way .. I installed a destop and vncserver the apt-get way and now it works. gnome failed on me but lxde works. So I guess I'm good to go .. even though I think my way is far too complicated.

    Cannot access via VNC

Hi everyone, I have an Ubuntu VM set up in VE 5.2-12. Reading this article it should be simple to use VNC for remote access: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/VNC_Client_Access Nevertheless when I try to connect there is a connection error. I only need this for internal access - I added the...

    Best practice for Proxmox self-backup

Ulf .. due to the above command I noticed that there was a mismatch in the script's backup path and the path I entered in to the crontab. Further testing showed that the only line I needed to add in the crontab was this one: TERM=xterm So the path is backup taken correctly from the script and...

    Best practice for Proxmox self-backup

Thanks Ulf, I am a bit confused due to line 1 of your Code .. but my crontab now looks like this: BACKUP_DIR=/mnt/qbak 40 * * * * /bin/echo | /prox_config_backup.sh Regrettably the situation hasn't changed. One thing I notice .. I call /prox_config_backup.sh and you call...

    Best practice for Proxmox self-backup

Hi and thanks DerDanilo for your work! Regrettably I'm having probs with the script. Works perfectly well from command line but cron wont work (runs every hour for test reason): 12 * * * * /bin/echo | /prox_config_backup.sh The only output I get is: TERM environment variable not set...

command 'apt-get update' failed: exit code 100

I see this the place where to comment this out. In the above I put a hash in front of the enterprise line and thought that was it. Thanks!

command 'apt-get update' failed: exit code 100

Same information as in the Wiki .. this was what I made of it before I posted the dump above: deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib #deb https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch pve-enterprise # PVE pve-no-subscription repository provided by proxmox.com, # NOT...

command 'apt-get update' failed: exit code 100

Hi everyone, I updated sources.list to no-subscription according to https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Package_Repositories. I'd like to verfiy that my output of apt-get update is okay .. since I still get to see a lot of "enterprise" entries.: root@proxmox:/etc/apt# apt-get update Ign:1...

    CIFS for Storage working partially

Continuing my monolog: I now mounted the share directly into the system. No idea why it doesn't work from the "add storage" window but now at least I can do a backup to the locally mounted directory. Strange stuff.

    Proxmox runterfahren

VG

    CIFS for Storage working partially

I now tried to do it via CLI: pvesm add cifs <storagename> --server <server> --share <share> [--username <username>] [--password] --smbversion 2.1 But this results in an error: 400 too many arguments pvesm add <type> <storage> [OPTIONS] I don't see where I'm mistaken :-(

    Proxmox runterfahren

Hallo allerseits, achtung Newbiefrage. Fahren alle Docker/VM geordnet runter, wenn ich Proxmox runterfahre oder müssen alle D/VM erst runtergefahren werden bevor man das gleiche mit Proxmox tut? VG

Hi everyone, I would like to add a storage to my Qnap-NAS via CIFS. Though when I use the share button (arrow down) it shows all shares on my NAS correctly. But when I want add those CIFS settings I receive the error: "create storage failed: error with cfs lock 'file-storage_cfg': mount...
