qmrestore - Hanging all other VM's?

Hmm, ok, interesting. I can try that out. If that is the case, shouldn't the GUI invocation of qmrestore have some sort of reasonable rate limiting specified by default? Also, the system doesn't actually ever regain health once in this state. Everything stops, INCLUDING qmrestore.

qmrestore - Hanging all other VM's?

I have a single node PVE machine running 5.4-13. When trying to restore a VM using qmrestore (either via the command-line or the web-UI, does not matter), when restoring a VM at some point during the restoration, my other VM's go unresponsive. The PVE box is still reachable, but all VM's are...

vzdump maxfiles doesn't work for NFS volume

I have a backup job configured to dump to a local disk, and setting maxfiles to 2 (in /etc/vzdump.conf) successfully limits the number of backups to just 2 on-disk per-vm. I also have a NFS mounted volume, and when I create a backup job for that, the maxfiles parameter doesn't seem to be...

M.2 SSD Cache and ZFS Configuration

I'm sorry, I am new to ZFS so am reading as much as I can but still have a ways to go... If I just do: pool1 mirror -- 6TBdisk_1 -- 6TBdisk_2 pool2 mirror -- Pro860_1 -- Pro860_2 So here I've eliminated the logs disk on the M.2 entirely. If a disk failure occurs, I should have a fully...

M.2 SSD Cache and ZFS Configuration

Hmm. Are things more reliable if I simply use the 860 Pro's without the M.2 cache?

M.2 SSD Cache and ZFS Configuration

What is the failure mode in this case? Is it complete file system corruption?

M.2 SSD Cache and ZFS Configuration

Oh hmm. This is for a personal system. Is it therefore not really going to be beneficial performance wise? I understand that for SLOG you need a battery backup to complete the writes if there's a failure, correct? What about using it for the ARC?

M.2 SSD Cache and ZFS Configuration

I'm building out a Proxmox box. I've purchased 2 Samsung 860 Pro 1TB SSD's. I want to use these in a ZFS mirrored pair to store most of my VM's and containers, and want the redundancy of the mirror. I've also purchased two Western Digital 6TB RED disks. I'd also like to mirror these for...
