Hello Wolfgang,
thank you for the respond, I think there is a huge potential in dpdk in combination with network application like virtual routers or http servers. Just let me know if there is a need to test it.
Hi,
since using ceph, I'm receving a kernel bug after a day of uptime on all nodes, someone already did report this:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=197077

@TwiX I've read the bugreport and seems to be this issue, I will increase the network traffic up to 10Gbit on each VM end report on friday. But it looks good anyways :)
@manu
I testet this with openvswitch and bridge, both issue persists. I see arp packages on tap interface aswell inside VM (without vlan tag = correct). arp packets are not being replied until rmmod virtio / or connect/disconnect via gui
I guess main focus should be virtio
I'm using vlan tagging as well, exact the same behavior, when I click disconnect, vm is reachable.
I'm using vlan tagging with openvswtich:
root@:~# qm config asd
agent: 1
balloon: 0
bootdisk: virtio0
cores: 16
cpu: host
memory: 65536
name: asd

Hello martinb,
I had the same issue last two weeks, suddenly arp packets are not received by the virtual machine. can you give more information about your hardware? e.g. NIC.
I didnt found any logs or issues, after upgrading NIC firmware and NIC driver, the issue seems to be gone.
Referring to some older posts and articles, there are several ideas to implement DPDK in openvswitch in order to gain performance in network, especially when using virtual routers or other network devices like proxy's as a virtual machine.
Is there any hope or plan to implement dpdk support? I...
