Dear Proxmox Team
as of today a new security issue was published which also affects the kernels available for proxmox 7. it is dubbed dirtypipe and seems to allow privilege escalations on affected systems.
all details can be found here:
https://dirtypipe.cm4all.com/
i checked on my proxmox...
Just tried the app on a fresh pve 7 install. When I open any VM i see various deserialization errors such as the one in the attached screenshot.. tried with both the official app from google play as well as the latest build linked in this thread.
Phone is a samsung galaxy s21 ultra with...
i guess the question is: are you missing something in the current setup?
postfix + dovecot is a widely used setup that can scale to high user counts.. so i guess it's a good solution.. i use this combo myself, but with mysql for account management instead of ldap (then again, i only have about...
hi
i recently had a few false positive on my private PMG spam filter. Here is the spam info part of the header of such a false positiv email:
X-SPAM-LEVEL: Spam detection results: 4

i can confirm this issue. i just did a fresh installation of the latest PMG (6.1) and after the installation was done i went into the web interface and configured the mail proxy settings (mainly the default relay and my domain) but port 25 on postfix was only bound to 127.0.0.1.
after manually...
just ran into that myself. in my setup the image was an LVM volume and i had to set it to read-writeable again after removing the template keyword from the config:
lvchange -p rw /dev/vmdisks/base-108-disk-0
cheers

okay this needs a self-reply now.. I might have bee slightly over enthusiastic :) turns out I've missed an important note or warning in the drbd9 documentation:
"In DRBD 9.0.x Dual-Primary mode is not supported. It might work "by accident", but don’t rely on it. Because of that, changes in the...
maybe things have changed since the original post. i just did an upgrade from drbd 8 to 9 by upgrading from proxmox 3.4 to 4.3 and it worked. it also states in the drbd 9 documentation, that it is compatible with drbd 8.4.
in order to prepare i first upgraded my proxmox 3.4 to the latest 3.10.x...
okay, i found the source of the problem and could solve it. I'll just write it down here in case sombody else runs into the same problem like me:
it seems that the reason for this strange behaviour was the CPU generation we used. We had two Dual-Socket machines equipped with Intel X5570 CPU's...
is my question too stupid and the answer too obvious or is there seriously nobody out there who has the same problem? i could reproduce this even on different hardware.. what do you guys do to install windows 2008 r2 or windows 7?
actually i have to correct that.. with that windows 7 guest i have exactly the same problem. i thought updating the boot sector helped there, but i just realized now that it too isn't activated anymore. so it seems to be a problem related to how windows 7 and 2008 handle activation.
hope...
hi all
i have a problem with a virtual guest that i've updated to windows 2008: Everything runs fine until i activate windows. after the activation it wants me to reboot and when i do that, it hangs right after the bios showing a black screen with a white steady cursor in the upper left...
just a little additional information for your amusement.. i just talked to our guys from the hardware department (i work for a system integrator) and they told me that they experienced similar issues with the standard e1000 drivers even on physical machines.. so it seems kvm is just VERY precise...
hi all
i've had a similar issue with one virtual machine running a windows 2003 server which has been migrated and moved to different hardware and finally it has been virtualized first as a vmware image and now as a kvm image on a proxmox cluster with drbd + lvm as shared storage.. to make...
