Sorry to resurrect this thread but, though my experience is slightly different from the OP, it does seem to validate his initial statement that mounting a NFS share via NFS 4 doesn't seem to be allowed by apparmor in a privileged LXC.

I have a home lab running three Proxmox 5.x servers. They are identical in terms of hardware setup and they were setup originally at the same time. I update them on a quarterly basis and always do all three without issues until today. The first host upgraded fine, but the other two hosts are not...
That is NOT what the OP is asking.
He's running FreeNAS as a VM guest inside Proxmox for a specific purpose and running into poor performance when lz4 is enabled on a ZFS pool in the VM.
Both vSphere and Hyper-V 2012 (heck even Citrix XenServer 6.x if I recall correctly) offer that functionality out of the box for clustered hosts. Clearly this is something their customers want and appreciate.
So I'm curious, why are you and others in the Proxmox staff so strongly opposed to...
Though you've already solved this by using the P2V route, I think this might have been the issue. The disk should've been assigned to a virtual scsi controller, not the ide one.
