It turned out Proxmox tried to communicate on IPv6.
While IPv6 was enabled all traffic was dropped on the firewall. Setting up the right rules solved the issue.

I have a new 3-node Proxmox cluster. Lets call the nodes A, B, and C.
I opened the dashboard on A and started to add nodes, it was fine. Then I wanted to add some VMs to B, but the storage dropdown was empty.
Then I went to Datacenter -> B -> local (B), but the main pane is grayed, there...
