Just a followup:
All methods descriped above unfortunately did not work, lvremove was not able to remove the volume either.
monitoring during the backup did not show any issues as well.
HOWEVER
I changed the compression settings from gzip to lgo and since 4 days the backups work fine now,
so...
Hm, wouldn´t call that "full"
root@hostname:~# vgs
VG #PV #LV #SN Attr VSize VFree
pve 1 4 0 wz--n- 465.15g 11.11g
But I guess I need to check it while the backup is running?
As said, a manual backup works fine.
Would it help to split the backups up in multiple jobs?
Even...
Thanks for the explanation.
Unfortunately that didnt help, the backup tonight was again unsuccessfull
INFO: starting new backup job: vzdump 101 104 106 108 --quiet 1 --mode snapshot --compress gzip --storage backup

Followup: WIth the previous setting, backups where not successfull as the LVM could not be created (lack of disk space).
I´ve reduced the value to as low as 5000 and at least the manual backup now works, although it just feels strange to me that it works with such a low image size (the...
Thanks for your fast reply!
I wasnt able to figure out the default size as the man page is not very helpful here, what would be a good value?
I now set it to 80000 which should be 80GB which is a bit larger than my largest Container, good enough?
In case it should mater, here is my disk status...
Hi everybody,
I have a simple PVE 2 set up with 4 openvz to backup nightly.
The backup works fine for a number of days, then a backup process apparently for no reason does not finish, here is the log of the backup
INFO: starting new backup job: vzdump 101 104 106 108 --quiet 1 --mode...
Hi everybody,
I installed the debian 6 appliance and another ubuntu 10.4 appliance in KVM containers.
both boot fine after the first installation, with working networking and ssh server.
However after I execute apt-get update/upgrade and then restart the networking won´t work after that...
Thanks for your reply, you´re totally right.
No need for any config on the host. After all it turned out to be a missconfiguration on the client side, a typo in resolv.conf...
little update:
I thought it would be sufficient to declare an alias eth0:174 like this
ifconfig eth0:174 84.x.x.174 up
i
on the host and then add that as a bridged device via the proxmox webgui, but when assigning the device to the vmbr174 i get "Error: unable to bridge device 'eth0:174' "...
Hi everybody,
this is a pretty beginner question, but I´m somewhat lost.
I have Proxmox 1.6 runngin, a single NIC on the host with 5 IPs assigned to it,
84.x.x.170-84.x.x.174.
I have some openVZ containers which I can easily assign IPs to.
However now I need a KVM Client running Ubuntu linux...

Regarding the MS stuff, luckily my university is taking part in MSDNAA, so we get free licenses for personal use, which is rather cool ;)
Regarding the single-domain restriction, how does this work exactly?
The...
Hi everybody,
I´m currently thinking about setting up a new Mail system, but I have never worked
with proxmox before so I wonder if you could assist me if the whole deal I have in mind
is doable and feasible. As I am only a student I have no budget for paying license fees though, so I am...
