So I understand that booting from this option is similar to boot from a live distro, like debian-live?

Starting a Proxmox 4.2 iso install there is an option: Rescue boot. Is't a small live version that boot the system and permit to check and manually solve problems or it automatically do some tasks and so can be dangerous booting on working systems?
