I can confirm that this was my problem.
I rebooted using a PartedMagic CD, stopped the mdraid and then zeroing all the superblocks.

Tried to install Proxmox 4 today on a machine with 4 2TB disks (+ one SSD).
I selected Raid10 as file system type and selected my four drives.
