[SOLVED] LXC Backup randomly hangs at suspend

@fabian: The fix I tried (just checking if the /proc/$PID dir exists) seems to have worked great for me so far The other containers I set up havent hung so far, but it's kinda hard without production data to give the cronjob something proper to work on I'll try and see if I can sort something...

[SOLVED] LXC Backup randomly hangs at suspend

From what I gather it's spinning in a loop waiting for processes to finish There's a isProcessStillRunning function.. which gets all pids via some ps/awk trickery and then searches for the pid in there - probably the best way that could feasably be solved *sigh* an exists(/proc/$PID) call would...

[SOLVED] LXC Backup randomly hangs at suspend

They should not suspend the container, but they briefly (if everything goes right, not noticable) freeze the container to create the snapshot volume . If stuff goes wrong.. it hangs indefinitely trying to freeze the container

[SOLVED] LXC Backup randomly hangs at suspend

I'm on a local storage aswell (thought i had mentioned that somewhere, sorry!) Just an ext3 file system on a different hdd Oh yeah, would also be good if it would handle the following error more gracefully (just restarting the backup makes it work normally) INFO: Starting Backup of VM 102...

[SOLVED] LXC Backup randomly hangs at suspend

Not sure if this is related, but I just had a lxc container freeze during snapshot mode I noticed the machine wasnt responding so I checked what was going on - after a bit of searching I noticed an lxc-freeze command for the vm (the backup had been idling for a good 4 hours, usually takes 20min...

    Mirroring Backups to multiple storages

I do know how to use rsync, but I need to execute rsync (or any other syncronization utility) AFTER the backups have been created. I was asking if there was an easy/recommended way of executing a command once the backup task has been finished

    Mirroring Backups to multiple storages

Yes, that is what I am trying to do. Is there a recommended way to place a hook so rsync gets executed once the backup is done?

    Mirroring Backups to multiple storages

Hello, Currently we have multiple backup jobs, one per storage. This proves to be quite the performance hog though. There are constantly (during morning-noon) backup jobs running - even some timing out due to not being able to aquire the vzdump lock in time. What is the recommended way to...
