At this point it would be nice to be able to delete my own thread to hide my own stupidity :D
I forgot to point to my "storage" volume group when restoring and it used my local storage so disk space ran out.
I guess this thread can stay up to help people making the same stupid mistake.
Hello,
Currently I have a single Proxmox server in production with the following version:
pve-manager/3.3-5/bfebec03 (running kernel: 2.6.32-34-pve)
I am planning to replace the server I currently have with another server running Proxmox 4.2.
pve-manager/4.2-17/e1400248 (running kernel...
Re: grub2 update problems for 3.4 (GUI only), leading to not correctly installed pack
Hello,
I did the upgrade from SSH but it still broke my install.
I tried the recovery method as described on this page http://ahmet.tekelioglu.org/en/rescue-proxmox-server-had-grub-breakdown

Re: Starting VMs on first node after second node failure on 2-node Proxmox cluster (D
Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your reply it seemed to have worked for the first VM I tested.
So what I did was activate the LV for VM 101 with the command
lvchange -aey /dev/vg0/vm-101-disk-1
Then I used
pvecm...
Re: Starting VMs on first node after second node failure on 2-node Proxmox cluster (D
Hi Richard,
Yes activating the logical volume is the easy part, I already did that.
After that I cannot start the VMs that were on the second node. I cannot simply copy the configuration files as I mentioned...
Re: KVM + LVM + DRBD + SSD low performance : SOLVED!!!
Alright, at my last job we had a similar problem with storage performance inside VMs. Outside the VMs on the hypervisor level we had huge performance when doing I/O tests but inside the VMs it was miserable.
Mind you this was not a Promox...
Ah yes, well as you can see I have one primary partition of 512 MB which I use for /boot
Then an extended partition with the remaining space of the entire drive. If I remember correctly this is how Ubuntu does it when you use the partitioner during installation.
Then my first logical partition...
Hello,
I have two servers configured in a Proxmox 2-node cluster with LVM on top of DRDB for storage for my VMs. See diagram below (crude paint drawing :P)
My second node has failed after a upgrade to Proxmox 3.4. I cannot resolve this issue immediately.
I would like to start the VMs that...
I managed to find a solution for my problem.
I downloaded the GParted Live ISO and uploaded this to my Proxmox environment. From there I restarted the VM and used the tool to simply resize my partitions. It worked perfectly. I first had to resize my extended partition with the extra 20 GB...
Hi,
I am trying to resize a disk of one of my virtual machines but I am stuck and the articles I've read so far don't seem to work for my particular setup.
My setup is as follows.
Two servers and each server has two disks
The servers are in a Promox cluster
The second disk of each server...
I had the same problem. It seems a bug in the Linux kernel. It has already been reported I don't know if it has been fixed yet. Please see the following:

Hi,
During the boot I saw an error message (which also quickly disappeared). So far I haven't seen any weird issues popping up. I can get the following output from "dmesg".
root@pve3:~# dmesg | grep failed
ACPI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_._OSC] (Node...
