So today I tried to spin up am VM on a Hetzner Dedicated server to evaluate RDP performance in a VirGL-GPU accelerated VM.
Unfortunatly the host crashes as soon as inside the VM the switch to the login console would happen.
I just confirmed that it's crashing with a KVM attached, but on the...
Yes, I do run replication */30, this sometimes lines up, sometimes it does not, and my VM isn't crashing every 30min.
I'll evaluate the hint with SMM to see what my options are.
With regards to Kernel 5.13.19-6 it seems to happen less frequent, but I double checked the logs and It crashed for me once on that kernel.
Since I don't have any mechanism figured out to manually reproduce that behavior I'm on a hunt for white ravens here.
I checked syslog (and syslog.1, 2.gz)...
So I collected some data over the weekend and for me there seems to be no kernel version related issue.
It crashes on all versions.

Will do, for now I'm gonna keep an eye, if this continues happening. Next time it crashes I'm gonna switch to old kernel and see if it happens again.
Unfortunatly I can't manually cause this, therefor I logically can only prove that it's happening, not that it's not.
Does anybody have a...
So I was expecting the machine to crash again at 15:30 - but this time noting happened.
As I currently don't know what leads to the crash it's hard to tell, if any changes will fix anything.
Afaik as soon as I switch to KVM64 nested virtualisation is disabled anyway, right?
Furthermore tzzz...
So to be honest I already did that, set host -> kvm64 and made sure HyperV is not installed/enabled.
I do have nested virtualisation on the host enabled though, but that's been on for months now, w.o. any issues.
In the Windows Event log there's unfortunatly nothing directly linked to this...
Same thing seems to happen to Windows 10 btw.
Problem apperaed today for me, but this wouldn't really line up with the last kernel update.
Noticed also may have happend the first time on tuesday, not sure, maybe someone just brought the Vm back up by hand, thinking he accedentily shut it down...
So today isn't monday but still, just tried out as the HP advisory explained, just did it for all Slots 1-6 in my system at once (as you can guess the exclude.dat ist just xml-ish, having multiple entries just works fine). Boot, unbind kernel driver, bind vfio_pci and passtrough to the q35...
It seams there is a possibility to diasable RMRR per PCIe slot with a HP tool from linux inside the BIOS. I'll propably check it out on monday, meanwhile here's the link: http://www.jimmdenton.com/proliant-intel-dpdk/
Hi again,
so first of all, my comment about ifconfig -a for br0 only appies after boot, as soon as I create the bridge br0 is created as supposed.
Just wanted to make clear, that for testing after right after boot i had no other interfaces but eth0, eth1 and lo.
Nobody could spot my error and...
Hi,
for my testing i wiped /etc/network/interfaces, leaving only eth0, eth1 and lo. ifconfig -a doesn't show br0. Do you think, this still could be the issue?
Hi there,
today, or better tonight, i decided to reconfigure my network using openvswitch. For testing i attached my two server interfaces to two switch ports.
The switch in use is a managed switch by TP-Link.
eth0 is connected to a port which runs in access mode
(untagged VLAN ID 10, primary...
