Ok, so newest kernel did not accomplish anything I needed.
I did end up solving this via these steps.
apt download firmware-atheros
Extract the firmware-atheros deb pack and copy (and create needed folders, qca did NOT exist.) the needed files to
/lib/firmware/qca/*
Make sure file permissions...
Hi, thank you for your reply but it appears you are just disabling suspend (via closing the lid)
I am actually suspending manually, not just trying to run with the lid closed. :)
Hello all. So far my experience with PVE 8 is excellent, running it in several places as well as on my laptop for development purposes.
I am encountering an issue though with suspend and bluetooth, on my laptop.
Problems with USB(internal) bluetooth are quite common so it took me awhile to...
Yes, came across this issue but instead I disabled forwarding on the bridge interface as I'm not using the Proxmox firewall. You solution is great too. ;)
I'm a bit short on time and I was hesitant to share this as recently Hetzner started sending out MAC abuse messages which took me a long time to resolve as it was both a Proxmox issue, which was fixed with PVE 7, and also an issue with this configuration which I finally resolved.
I have been...
Hey fabian,
Thanks for the reply. I was able to get it to restore with your given command. Really struggled to figure out the cli for the restore command for quite a bit before I posted.
The error message regarding ACLs actually resolved too with your command.
From what I could tell it was...
This error is rearing its head for me during a restore of a container.
I ran a backup from the source Proxmox server to PBS running on a secondary destination Proxmox server.
I am trying to restore the backup from the destination Proxmox server from its locally installed PBS.
Due to a config...
Ok, it seems to have to do with restoring a privileged container as an unprivileged container using PBS.
Is this not a supported operation?
This is generally an unsupported operation with with container backups apparently as I found from some other threads. Solved.
Tried searching for this...
I thought I replied to this but apparently I forgot to press post.
In this case, it is happening always, much after the initial install.
Windows does NOT see the device unless its in the boot order.
PVE 6.3-3
Seems to be a small bug, maybe known bug but I couldn't find anything with search.
UEFI Windows 10 machine, once booted into the VM no virtual CD/DVD rom appears unless I add it to the boot order in the VM options.
It doesnt need to be booted first, just needs to be checked to be one...
I have a bit of experience with the write amplification on Proxmox using KVM / Qemu at least with Windows VM's.
The default volblocksize of 8k is very inefficient and 4k even more so.
I have a set of 6 x HDD in a RAIDZ1 config and in my testing so far, in my testing of 4k volblocksize (to...
Never really figured out exactly what was causing it, did the same behavior over SSH as well. Ended up going with Sanoid / syncoid for replication which has an adjustable mbuffer switch and is generally, no offense intended a more clever and forgiving replication mechanism.
Adjusting the...
Hi everyone,
So, I dont know why this isn't being reported more, but for me
Kernel vmlinuz-5.4.44-2-pve & vmlinuz-5.4.55-1-pve
are 100% confirmed to giving me hard locks every 4-8 hours. Reverting to
Linux pm1 5.3.18-3-pve #1 SMP PVE 5.3.18-3 (Tue, 17 Mar 2020 16:33:19 +0100) x86_64...
Not 100% sure is a kernel problem yet. But the lockups are fairly regular, 4-6 hours it seems.
I have reverted to an older kernel.
Linux pm1 5.3.18-3-pve #1 SMP PVE 5.3.18-3 (Tue, 17 Mar 2020 16:33:19 +0100) x86_64 GNU/Linux
In the meantime to see if it helps as it is what I was running before...
Update: Believe this has to do with Wireguard VPN, possibly an MTU issue but the high speed going down to a trickle is very odd. If anyone has any insight would appreciate it.
Kinda new to Proxmox built in replication but I am very familiar with zfs send / recv
Testing out simple storage...
Cloned my Proxmox Backup Server,
How do I generate a new fingerprint/certs for the second server?
Or more precisely, what is the correct procedure in this case?
It currently has exactly the same fingerprint as the primary one.
I actually have no physical access to these machines. They are hosted/rented servers. :P
I updated my script just to be a bit smarter and so far so good. I just run it on boot via cron.
#!/bin/bash
GrepStatus=`pvecm status | grep "Quorate: Yes"`
TryCounter=0
