    GlusterFS Woes

I have not yet attempted to convert the images to .raw. All nodes have battery backed RAID controllers. I'll have to wait until after hours to perform changes, but I will first verify the caching of the physical disks, and then attempt to convert the images to .raw.

    GlusterFS Woes

It doesn't appear to have helped. I've attached pertinent information from two log files. With hardware raid controllers, what should caching be on the physical disk? All nodes have raid 10. pvdisplay --- Physical volume --- PV Name /dev/sda3 VG Name pve PV...

Yes, they are all using qcow2. I will change cache to writethrough and then report back.

    GlusterFS Woes

Hello all, I have been around and around trying to google my way out of issues that I have been having with ProxmoxVE and GlusterFS. I get the same io-error and KVM lockups that many people here have talked about before, but no fix has yet worked for me. I have a 4 node HA configuration using...

VM shown on wrong cluster node

This thread can be marked as solved. Solution: Stop the running VMs Remove the VMs from the cluster.conf so that they are not managed by HA. In the web gui, select "Datacenter" Select the "HA" tab. Select the appropriate pvevm vmid. Click "Remove" Click "Activate" to activate the new...

VM shown on wrong cluster node

I guess it is not a simple matter of stopping the VMs and removing/readding them to the cluster.conf through the web gui? Since, I have just attempted that and receive the same "not initializing it" message. *EDIT: Adding logs after removing VMs from being managed by HA, going through a...

VM shown on wrong cluster node

While attempting to migrate the VM using the cli from Node 1 with command: clusvcadm -M pvevm:201 -m ppat-pdnhvz003 I've come across some important information in the rgmanager logs of each node. I've edited the logs for readability. Node 1 (ppat-pdnhvz001) - rgmanager.log: Jun 02 09:05:35...

VM shown on wrong cluster node

Testing again this Monday morning. I've removed the VM from the cluster.conf so that it is no longer managed by HA. Once this has been done, I can successfully live migrate the VM between all nodes. If I return the VM to being managed by HA, the problem returns and, though clustat tells me that...

VM shown on wrong cluster node

Fairly sure. With the VM selected, I'm simply using "Migrate" from the upper-right menu. The disk for the VM is raw format on GlusterFS storage. After the initial install of Proxmox, I removed the /dev/pve/data logical volume and reduced the physical volume on /dev/sda3 down to 600GB, for...

VM shown on wrong cluster node

Preamble: I always try to search my way out of problems, thus I never post on forums. So,please excuse any etiquette mistakes. Problem: I have a three node HA cluster. I wanted to test the migration of a couple VMs (both managed by HA). When I migrate a VM to another target node (from the 3rd...

Proxmox VE installs fine, won't boot on Dell 2950 Perc 6/i

I've got a similar machine at home with the 2970 and everything went fine. I've also got your identical machine at work and will be installing Proxmox as well. Hopefully I can get to the installation on the 2950 tomorrow or Friday, and I will let you know either way how the install goes.
