I tried the tip of limiting the amount of zfs_acr_max memory. I tried to run "update-initramfs -u" after the change but that didn't seem to make any difference. After a reboot though, the load dropped. (Then there was a DNS issue, preventing the statistics form reaching the Nagios server...
