    Windwos VM Remotedesktop multiple monitors

I'm not sure that would word because you can only use multiple screens over remote desktop if there are multiple screens attached the machine - it's certainly something I've not been able to overcome. There are workarounds I believe using spanning across two screens, but this is not the same...

    Windwos VM Remotedesktop multiple monitors

You can get this to work using Spice dual monitor as your graphics card, you will however need signed drivers for 64 bit windows, which I'm not sure exist - at least not unless you pay RedHat.

[SOLVED] using iSCSI as Backup Storage

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but did you ever manage to get the LVM volume to auto mount to the folder, or was it required to manually mount from the CLI? I'm experimenting with Starwind Virtual SAN on Proxmox and would like to have it fairly automated in the same way that's possible with...

How do I remount an iSCSI backed, Folder Storage mount?

Thank you for your quick response! Will that keep the mount point (ie /dev/sdb1 -> /mnt/iSCSI) sat above the iSCSI connection happy too, or will that need some level of mounting / remounting?

How do I remount an iSCSI backed, Folder Storage mount?

I've figured how to manually mount an iSCSI target's LUN /dev/sdb, formatted it as ext3 /dev/sdb1 and created 'Folder Storage' for Proxmox to use the LUN /mnt/iSCSI for Images, Templates and Backups rather than just LVM volumes. Can anyone give me some pointers as to how I'd go about...

Access to PVE Web Interface from KVM VMs

Please close this, Internet Explorer's lack of any kind of useful information meant I was trying to chase down a network issue, but installing Chrome did the trick.

Access to PVE Web Interface from KVM VMs

Running Proxmox 3.3, my Virtual Machines cannot access the web interface, with a page not found error in Internet Explorer. They can ping the host just no web interface. The web interface is accessible from machines on the network away from Proxmox. Firewall is not enabled on any of the...

    Add additional KVM Cpu Type?

Thanks for the reply Cesar but unfortunately I dont think I've been very clear in my description. The original server is not running proxmox, its a physical server. The processor emulation is fine, but I need to be able to present it as a GenuineIntel processor family 42 stepping 7 which is a...

    Add additional KVM Cpu Type?

We are migrating a server onto proxmox with new hardware, one of the pieces of software we run is tied to a cpu via its family, model and stepping. The company are no longer trading so getting a new licence is not an option. It's tied to GenuineIntel, CPU Family 6 and Stepping 7 (Ivy Bridge) and...

Best storage option for non-production Server

I would like to add a second hard drive to a non-production server, where network storage is not an option. I only need this available to a single VM, which is running Windows Server 2008 R2. In everyone's opinion, is it best to do the following: 1. Pass through the device using virtio...

    Proxmox and SeaBIOS additional parameters

Thanks for the update - works like a charm. I can see the relevant fields in SLIC Toolkit now. It didn't have the desired effect however as I was trying to install OEM Windows XP on my promox host which is a Dell machine that has an XP Pro COA. I believe it's because these patches are for SLIC...

    Proxmox and SeaBIOS additional parameters

I'm still not able to get this working - SLIC Toolkit still shows 'DUMP ERROR (SLIC TABLE NOT FOUND)' - would the fact I'm running Proxmox 2.3 make a difference? Here's the whole process I've followed: 1. Dump SLIC to bin using SLIC TOOLKIT 2. Convert to Hex using xxd -i source-bin-file.bin |...

    Proxmox and SeaBIOS additional parameters

Thanks for the reply, that's great! Still having some issue though :/ I've used SLIC Toolkit to extract my SLIC to a Bin file, then ran the following command to convert to Hex: I've then put this in the scr folder for SeaBios alongside acpi_slic.patch Then I issued the make command on the...

    Proxmox and SeaBIOS additional parameters

I've been able to compile the new bios with the instructions you've provided, but using SLIC Toolkit is not able to see the SLIC information. Do I need to pass in any variables in the XXX.conf file? I know some versions of the patch look for args: -acpitable sig=5L1C,data='data dump' Is this...
