I've been trying to figure out an issue for some time where pcap based utilities like tcpdump and ngrep get corrupt packets from veth interfaces within OpenVZ guests.
I had chalked the issue up to being simplely a virtual networking issue. But I find that by running quests with x64...
Hey, I have my current cluster:

Hey all,
I have a cluster running 1.5 (originally 2.6.18) on 6 physical nodes. Each node has a single Xeon E5520.
I had a small KVM (single socket/core, 256M ram, 8G raw hd) running on one of the nodes, when suddenly it crashed. I couldn't launch a VLC connection into in, nor could I stop...
In recently switching to e1000 for my KVM VMs because of instability in virtio, I've ran into a small issue I was hoping someone else had a quick fix for.
Unlike virtio which starts as up, the e1000 driver appears to have a small delay in bringing the interface eth0 within the VM up...
Ahh I suspected something with the 2.6.18 kernel.. hmm, will switch to the e1000 meanwhile, but you might want to make this a sticky in the forum considering how many other threads there are with people trying virtio.

Hey guys,
So I'm migrating several existing kvm qcow images to proxmox (love the web interface) by creating new KVM's in proxmox and replacing their qcow files.
On several KVM instances (not all) I started to experience VERY high ping times to other machines, including those within the...
Would the PVE team be willing to implement the vzctl feature nfs:on either in the default container create or as a checkbox in features of the web interface?
--David
No no, not suggesting you create an interface for multiple, merely one to configure the primary/only. AKA to do the same thing you suggested I do in fstab, only via the web interface.
--David :)
Hey tom,
Last thing I'm suggesting is replacing your entire underline interface with libvirt. You'll never retain the same direct VM control/feel. However, adding basic libvirt support for create, destroy, modify, start, stop will allow you to add a large number of additional machine...
pve0.png - My System->Network screen (as you can see the additional bridges are listed and active)
pve1.png - Create view for KVM
pve2.png - Create view for OpenVZ
pve3.png - Add ethernet hardware view for a already existing KVM

Hmmmm, ok time to insert my newbie foot into the conv :)
First let me say that I'm coming to PVE from a different direction than most.
I actually had a been working at a company (out of work now guys, who's hiring?) where I was maintaining roughly 800 physical servers running initially Xen...
Thank you for the link. I do think however that it would be a very good offering of PVE to provide a web interface driven config option to select a NFS point to mount for the primary VZ storage. I have no personal problem configuring a fstab automount, however considering how well you've done...
Yes they are active, and no not a caching issue as I do in fact access the interface from multiple browers. Also I am running the latest apt-get upgraded versions.
One of the benefits I saw in PVE was it's built in support for NFS storage volumes by default without having to modify underline configs. However, upon creating several OpenVZ containers in great hast I only realized after the fact that the web interface didn't seem to ask me where the storage...
Oh yes most definitely I added the interfaces via the web interface, and yes, also rebooted. Remember also that I stated my ability to add said bridges from the OpenVZ create and the "add ethernet" screens, just not the KVM create one. Thus it is working, completely from the web interface, I...
Total newbie to PVE, however I'm pretty experienced with KVM/virtualized environments. So lets hope this isn't a purposeful bug I found.
In PVE 1.4 I've added several new bridged interfaces (mostly by creating them against vlan tagged eth0, e.g. eth0.5). However, when I choose to Create a new...
