Perhaps you can try to narrow down the problem by booting with an earlier kernel version (https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-admin-guide.html#sysboot_kernel_pin).
That's possible, check the log there for something like 'no free leases'.
A faulty firewall configuration can also be another reason (https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-admin-guide.html#chapter_pve_firewall).
Does the problem arise randomly or only on a high/specific workload?
Did you check things like the physical connection, temperature and possible power supply issues?
Is your log from the guest or the host? Please also post the missing one.
Which guest OS do you run and is it up to date...
How old is your initial PVE installation?
lvdisplay /dev/pve/root | grep time
To get more information about the current state, please post the output of the following commands...
apt list pve-kernel-* --installed
ls -1 /boot/v*
df -hT | grep -e Size -e boot
... and afterwards run ...
When you say the new kernel doesn't boot or not automatically, what happens if you try to select the new one manually at boot time?
Please post:
proxmox-boot-tool kernel list
uname -rv
Although it's not the recommended setup to install PBS on PVE or manually on the host, your mentioned procedure is the way to go.
Just don't forget to comment out the 'pbs-no-subscription' repo afterwards. After a few weeks all package versions will have catched up and you get the used amount...
Currently there's no 'device_id' parameter implemented, maybe you want to file a bug report (Qemu): https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=pve
@bthn.szk As a quick fix adapt the resume parameter to the new id.
Your backup is also not done incrementally. When adding the storage on PVE via GUI, are you sure that you selected the last item in the list 'Proxmox Backup Server'?
Yes, it looks like the reported host is infected. If it's an old computer and only used to watch videos it's probably an even better idea to install some Linux distribution and be much better protected from such malware in general. Maybe data were stolen from the infected host but I doubt that...
Please be more specific (used command and its output; what did you have to reconfigure manually).
Also interesting:
