Homelab: VM Machine + NAS using Proxmox

Just had another thought. And this question is going to reveal how little I truly know... If I'm hosting a NAS via a Proxmox guest then it's technically not safe for me to run my Proxmox backups to that NAS because I won't be able to access the NAS if my pve goes down, correct? Or is there a...

Homelab: VM Machine + NAS using Proxmox

Good advice, the services I'm planning to run on the VMs are critical so I'd rather not put them on used hardware. I'll look into this route and see what I can find.

Homelab: VM Machine + NAS using Proxmox

Sounds like I'm going MicroATX. I'll spec out a build and see what I can come up with.

Homelab: VM Machine + NAS using Proxmox

Awe. Right. Thanks for this info. Didn't even think about the SMR nonsense. I know next to nothing about MiniITX, will there be a Mobo that has 2 M.2 slots that fits the form factor? M.2 Proxmox OS M.2 Proxmox VM 2x Sata 3.5 HD - mirrored Would give me some redundancy on the NAS which my idea'...

[SOLVED] LACP - Possible to bound 4 Nics?

Hello! Apologies if this information is available somewhere, I've looked but haven't found it yet. Is it possible to setup LACP with four nic ports? I have switch hardware that supports it but I wanted to make sure Proxmox supports it. If there's documentation or wiki info that states this...

Unable to initialize physical volume /dev/sda3

This also worked from me. RAID-1 931GB disk > reduced to 925GB. It failed one time and then worked when I retried.

    Failed to Prepare UEFI Boot

And it's working. No idea what I did to fix it :/ I reset the bios to default, rebuilt the raid1 and repeated all the steps I did from this post. Ran the install, it failed due to unable to initialize physical volume /dev/sda3, ran the install again (setting the drive size to 925GB - originally...

proxmox 7.0 (failed to prepare EFI)

I think the reducing GB did fix the unable to initialize physical volume /dev/sda3 error but I'm back to getting the bootloader setup errors: - failed to prepare EFI boot using Grub on '/dev/sda2': unable to install the EFI boot loader on '/dev/sda' error. Makes it all the way through the...

    Failed to Prepare UEFI Boot

Hello, running into a similar/the same issue. I'm over in this thread as well. Dell PowerEdge 620 with PERC H710 Mini. Using two Samsung 870 EVO SATA 3 SSDs in a RAID-1 configuration. and I changed settings in bios and it allowed the install to make it further before getting the error Any...

proxmox 7.0 (failed to prepare EFI)

Ran into the same (or very similar issue) installing on a Dell PowerEdge 620 with hardware(PERC H710 Mini) RAID1 boot disks. I did a few things to get past this error so not completely sure which one fixed it, but I'll list them below 1) Boot into System Setup(F2) > Boot settings > BIOS Boot...
