I did apt upate, upgrade distibution upgrade.
The correct linux headers are installed. I think it is synology issue.
I will keep it open till I get a solution from synology, and try to post it here.
Thanks
Ok, seems like it is synology problem while installing the agent.
The Linux headers are installed.
The installer complains of not installed.

I am trying to install Synology activebackup for business client on proxmox.
This is the error I am getting.
E: Unable to locate package linux-headers-5.15.102-1-pve
E: Couldn't find any package by glob 'linux-headers-5.15.102-1-pve'
Don't know what happened?
How do I resolve this?
Hi @leesteken
Thanks for your reply. I have used apt install pve-headers-5.15.30-2-pve
PVE headers and PVE Kernel headers both show pve-headers-5.15.30-2-pve 5.15.30-3
I have not restarted the server after dist-upgrade and installing Kernel headers. Would that make any difference?
I did apt-get upgrade
and apt-get dist-upgrade
Since I did apt-get dist-upgrade today, I must have installed the latest kernel as of today. Insted, this is what I am getting.
uname -r
5.15.30-2-pve
Installed kernel headers by issuing command :
apt install pve-headers-5.15.30-2-pve
However, the...
I had no choice but to copy the data on a USB, because it is an old proliaent server with multiple disks in a RAID array.
There was no way to remove the disks form the server.
As far as copying to the server 2019 is concerned, instead of copying to proxmox server would it be better to copy it...
Thanks @bbgreek17 for your response.
No, I have not added the server to the network.
I shutdown all devices like desktops, NAS etc. Only printers and proxmox servers without any runing VMs.
Then only the infected sever 2008R2.
Attached a USB drive to it. and using xcopy, copying all those...
Hi HR40,
Can you suggest if there is something that can be used as protection against Ransomware in future? Also if there is a way to decrypt already encrypted file.
Regards
I have a question. When you activate discard on any qcow2 virtio drive with data already on it, what happens?
Does it automatically shrink the size of the disk discarding the unused space?
Do my vzdump backups reduce in size as well?
When the the effect take place? AS soon as you turn on the...
Thank you Spirit, Dunuin
Spirit, I followed your instructions and could successfully convert the disk to Virtio.
I have kept the Networking to E100. would virtio network have significant improvements?
Hi Dunuin,
Here I am not install windows, but rather, creating a vm with the same size of the drives that I have already converted to qcow2 from thhe physical server. Once I create the VM, then I replace the drive created while creating the VM with my converted qcow2 drives.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your prompt reply, Dunuin.
How can I install virtio for drives and NIC and the service before I start the VM? How will by server recognize the drives? can you please explain pleae.
Thanks
Our physical server running windows server 2008R2 was hit by Ransomware.
While it only had few files encrypted were deleted and while the server was running I converted the disks to VHDX format using disk2vhd application. There were 2 drives C: and E: where the data resided. Later on I converted...
I wanted to clarify one thing. When we use the GUI in pve, there is a file vzdump created in /etc/cron.d with a symlink, pointing to /etc/pve/vzdump.cron
So Are you saying that I create another backup job in PVE using the GUI and select the same storage and VM tobackup everyday, and then uncheck...
Hi,
First of all congratulations on coming out with a fantastic solution. I installed PBS on a physical server and setup a backup storage and added it to my Proxmox ve node.
From the GUI it gives you the same options are vzdump backup. You can only select days and time for a automatic backup to...
