Is there an atomic way to get the next free VM_ID and reserve it?

Well, because asking if one exists and using it is better than assuming it doesn't and cobbling something together that isn't necessary.

Is there an atomic way to get the next free VM_ID and reserve it?

Hi all. I'm using automation to deploy VMs onto PVE, and I've come across a problem. In order to create a VM, I think I have to provide a VMID, for example in the API or with `qm create`. I can get the next free ID with `/cluster/nextid`, however if two processes try to build a VM at the same...

    Update HA Groups from API

Hi folks. Is it possible to edit an HA Group from the API? I can GET all groups from /api2/json/cluster/ha/groups, but I can't seem to PUT a different value for nodes with it, as it just complains that it's not implemented. Basically, what I'd like to achieve is a way of editing a group so I...

Added new host without disabling qdevice, now can't remove the qdevice

Hi folks. I have a Proxmox cluster that I've had up for a while now, consisting of two nodes and a pi running as a QDevice. I recently aquired a new server so added that as a cluster node without realising that I was supposed to remove the qdevice first. I now have a cluster with a qdevice that...

[SOLVED] VMs on different host to disks after power failure

I think I managed to fix this by moving the relevant conf files from /etc/pve/nodes/prox1/qemu-server/ to /etc/pve/nodes/prox2/qemu-server/ Everything seems to have started up fine now :)

[SOLVED] VMs on different host to disks after power failure

Hi folks. I had an unscheduled power down of my whole cluster today. When the power came back the cluster restarted, I now have all the VMs showing registered against my first node, but some of the disks are on the second node (where the vms were before the shutdown) What's the best way to...
