Hi all,
I'm faced with reactivation software 1C.
After upgrade from version 5.1-44 to 5.2-1 guest VM windows server 2008 r2 has changed a little.
And software detected this change.
Current proxmox version:
Detected os changes, was:
Get new report of software:
So changed something not...
I also stayed with pve-kernel-2.6.32-46-pve. Adaptec 5405z.
I didn't have similar controller to test with new Proxmox 4.4.
Did anyone successful upgrade from Proxmox 3.4 with 2.6.32-46-pve to Proxmox 4.0 and then to newer version?
Hi everybody,
Typically I'm using common kernel with Proxmox.
I've done several upgrades from 1.9 to 3.1 till 3.4.
Now I' going with last pve-kernel-2.6.32.
All that time I have several ramdisks for some VMs.
Just add
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="ramdisk_size=20971520"
Recently I've tried...
I can suggest to make a test on Windows 2012R2 but not just after full startup. Let Windows to keep runnig for at least 1-3 hours.
I've experience with Windows 2008R2 here and something similar with Windows 2012R2.
The conclution: Windows is selfoptimizing after heavy load or after long idle...
Hi,
I've found workaround for this issue.
I have also fixed memory size and played disabling balloon: 0 in config.
It is also confirmed with Enterprise edition and new installation Standart is ok.
Every night performing backup with suspend VM.
In the morning I've found that DPC latancy is good...
Today I'm following testing. I've installed new windows server 2008 r2 standart (both virtio drivers 0.1-65).
And got almost same chart as 2008 r2 enterprise (on same host)
Here is config file:
balloon: 0
boot: c
bootdisk: virtio0
cores: 8

I've tried to install clear Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise (same distr) with no load, no roles and virtio drivers as wiki recommend. But same behave:
Not possible to get nice green chart or even get it lower.
I didn't try to install clear Windows 2008 R2 Standart.
But I've tried to start with one...
Hi all!
Long time 1.9 version was satisfy performing for VM virtualisation around 10 VM (some Linux Ubuntu 10/12) other Windows (XP, 2003, 2008, 2008 R2).

VitaminJ, thank you a lot.
I've faced with upgrade several VMs from backup (was on 1.9 version).
After restoring .. all was starting fine (some tuning for net cards) but one VM Windows Server 2008 R2 was hanging on start.
On safe mode it was hanging on last: classpnp.sys
I was crazy hours...
Good news, I've found workaround for my "unable to install the bootloader".
Extra volumes on controller Adaptec 5405Z rised this error.
So I just plugged out SAS cable from controller. Booted and installed Proxmox 3.1 from CD (by USB-DVD).
I had only one /dev/sda to install on it.
First start...
I can confirm same error as on screenshot and final result: unable to install the bootloader
at the end of installing last version of Proxmox 3.1
This is Intell SR2612URR with two E5620 and Adaptec 5405Z controller (made 2 raid partions).
Before it was successfully installed by Proxmox v2.3 but...
Hi,
can add my issue.
Get hangs (losting) connection to VM Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Eng.
Heavy load and it happends 2-5 times per a day (fresh install)
On same server with VM Windows XP SP3 Eng not so heavy it happends once per 2-4 days. But system (Win XP) restarting.
Both time: Virtio driver...
Maybe in next release will be added option for delays in seconds from initial start of system
for every VMs only if checked box to enable it?
More complicated dependences could be added in 2.x or perfomed by scripts as above.
now available system with 72 disks,
in case of letters maybe started from
sda-sdb-.... - sdx - sdy - sdz ... what next
?
In case of 256Gb in the system and 255Gb is split to VMs.
How mach memory should be left to the system ? 0.5-1Gb or even less?
just not to alow swapping?
Hi, Searching about linux max supported hardware didn't found up-to-date specification. How many (maximum) supported currently by Proxmox 1.xx (latest): CPUs, RAM Memory, HDDs (at least CPU and Memory) ? Thinking to take advantages of more then 4th CPU (with 8-10 cores) and 512GB (or more)...
