why is zfs on one drive with raid 0 is not a good idea? i would like to be able to do zfs snapshots, but dont need raid at the moment

Hi everyone, if i want to install a new proxmox with ZFS, will all my hard drives be wiped? i want to just install it on the new hard drive....must i set the drives to do not use or i can leave them selected?
