PVE 7 to 8 - Unknown Status SAN Connections after Update

Hey everyone. I just went through the proxmox instructions for upgrading from PVE 7 to 8. I have a Dell EMC SAN which was working perfectly under version 7. I have a "fast" and "slow" volume on the SAN. The connections are showing in the UI but their status is unknown. Multipath tools are...

HA Problem when testing a downed cluster node

Hello! I'm testing a new HA cluster setup for production. I turned off the second node in the cluster. Node 1, which is the master, recognized that node 2 went down, but then node 1 rebooted!!! Not only did it reboot but it didn't even pick up my test VM that I've enabled for HA management. Has...

Migrating on a new Cluster Setup with Shared Storage

That was easy! Even though I created the storage at the data center level, I overlooked the "shared" storage option.

Migrating on a new Cluster Setup with Shared Storage

I just had assistance by @bbgeek17 with getting my HA setup done, thank you! I have another topic. I've got my cluster set up, I installed multipath-tools and lsscsi on both nodes. I created a test VM and attempted to migrate it. It doesn't seem that it used shared storage. What I was expecting...

    SAS Multipath

Thank you. I'm surprised proxmox doesn't have anything built into the GUI to handle this since it's an enterprise solution

    SAS Multipath

Hey evreryone! I was able to get guidance on getting my SAS disks to show up in Proxmox. I have two Dell R350s and a Dell EMC ME4012. Each R350 has two SAS cables connecting to controller A and B. When I look at the disks I see.. So the ME4 3.84 TB and 1.20TB disks show up twice. Same way...

Proxmox and Dell EMC ME4012 SAN Storage

Okay, I have the disks showing up from the SAN but it appears that I'm getting an advertisement from each controller. I only have one 3.84TB volume, and one 1.2 TB volume, however each is listed twice since there is a SAS cable connected to each controller.

Proxmox and Dell EMC ME4012 SAN Storage

I figured SAS connected SAN was pretty damn standard these days. I can't imagine Dell or Debian not supporting each other.

Proxmox and Dell EMC ME4012 SAN Storage

Working on that. Do you anticipate me having a problem seeing the disks on the SAN using SAS cables? I only have network management on that box.

Proxmox and Dell EMC ME4012 SAN Storage

Hello! I've got two Dell R350 poweredge servers connected to a Dell EMC ME4012 via SAS. I'm trying to get my two volumes seen by proxmox. I have host initiators discovered on the ME4012 for my two proxmox nodes. Has anyone been able to work through this and help guide me? I've been around...

    initial backups setup

When I first deployed this server it was incorrect, then I changed the time zone to EST. The backups still began at 5. Then deleted the backups and re-configured. Same outcome.
