Can't use EPYC-ROME CPU after update

...them afterwards. Proper context switching is key to effective resource sharing. As there are times when I notice some of my VM's seem to stutter, could the missing XSAVES be the reason/cause of that? I'm trying to figure out the value of fixing this vs. risk of messing with it given things...

Even with youtube video all the way down to 360p it still struggles to play it smoothly. The VM cpu is showing only 40 to 50% max when...

[SOLVED] Help With Windows10 VM Stuttering Games

Not using all cores often works better because you are never at 100% and therefore CPU usage from Proxmox and virtualization overhead (network, disk, etc.) or other VMs then don't cause stutter.

    Linux desktop performance through SPICE

I'm seeing the same 4 cores at 80% but it works without any stutter/lags (at 1280x1024) with Ryzen CPU with 8 cores or more. You only have 4 cores, so the software rendering of SPICE (and other virtualization overhead) is simply asking too much from your CPU. I'm almost sure that SPICE does...

    Linux desktop performance through SPICE

Best OS, setup for gaming VM

Give the VM less cores and less ram because making sure that the VM does not use 100% of anything make everything smoother; go for 50% at most or use bare-metal instead of Proxmox. Also search the forum for stutter (and similar terms) and read the advise people give.

Opt-in Linux 6.2 Kernel for Proxmox VE 7.x available

I think I ran into a related issue with my two NVMe drives back with the 6.1 opt-in kernel, see my post here. You could try and compare the device links in /dev/disk/by-id/ (i.e. not only in /dev/ !) between 5.15 and 6.2, because at least for me they have changed since 5.19 (i.e. due to the bug...
