My R730xd servers loaded 8.02 fine. It was the odd QCT nodes that failed to boot for me. Reloading with 7.4 and upgrading worked fine.

The 3 nodes is required as when 1 falls off, 2 nodes still talk to each other and agree the cluster is up. When you only have 2 nodes and 1 falls off, neither know which one has become the master. The third node is like a tie breaker.

Save yourself lots of trouble. Burn a CD or use a Zalman VE350 or ISOStick. I never could get Proxmox to work reliably on plain USB thumb drives.
