    [SOLVED] sda has a holder...

This method (with the "More" menu top right) worked for me! I did the CLI stuff earlier in the thread but tried this method again (webGUI) and it worked "better" for me :)

Cannot grant Shell/CLI permissions with @pbs, LDAP or other non pam accounts

If you can't prove who did what actions on an IT System that needs to be audited, then you can't complete audit. This is a hard limitation in environments that require such auditing, whether it is for periodic certification of the environment, or ITSEC forensic purposes. This will be a reason...

Cannot grant Shell/CLI permissions with @pbs, LDAP or other non pam accounts

It's really hard to not want to jump down your throat when I clearly spell out earlier in this discussion that this is a scaling problem _which you directly quote me as saying_. Yes I understand at the scale you speak to there are ways to do this, but that does not detract the value of what I...

Cannot grant Shell/CLI permissions with @pbs, LDAP or other non pam accounts

You're completely failing to see that to get Shell/CLI access on _each and every PVE Node in a cluster_ that currently that is _ONLY_ possible with PAM. LDAP/AD/OIDC/PVE/other authentication capabilities within Proxmox VE _CANNOT_ grant Shell/CLI access. THAT is the difference. In order to...

Cannot grant Shell/CLI permissions with @pbs, LDAP or other non pam accounts

Okay now do that for each additional user on a huge Proxmox VE cluster one at a time... Having to manually go and set up a new user or modify an existing PAM user on a multi-hundred (or larger) PVE Node Cluster just so they can get Shell/CLI access is a very poor way to go about doing things...

Cannot grant Shell/CLI permissions with @pbs, LDAP or other non pam accounts

Bug is the only real class of report that can be made, regardless of if the term is fully accurate or not. And this is a scaling problem, plus that's the whole point of the webGUI for Proxmox in general. So you can manage how the system operates _without_ having to go to the CLI. You literally...

Cannot grant Shell/CLI permissions with @pbs, LDAP or other non pam accounts

Hi Folks, I've recently tried in Proxmox Backup Server to create a new account for a new admin with full admin permissions, but there's some existing shortcomings that are noteworthy that I want the general public to be aware of. (I'm currently using v2.4-3 and these issues appear to exist even...

VM Backup sometimes causes huge CPU/RAM usage

Okay so fleecing has not fully solved the problem. I still have every now and then systems that spike their RAM into swap, just like the original example, and result in outages. I'm going to leave fleecing on as it seems like probably a good idea, but still need help on this one please.

VM Backup sometimes causes huge CPU/RAM usage

I have multiple nodes in the cluster and that's not sufficiently reliable for me. But might work for others ;)

VM Backup sometimes causes huge CPU/RAM usage

Ahhh some new feature stuff since v8.2 I haven't looked at yet, thanks! I'll try that! I'm also going to try changing "zstd threads" from default (1) to 0 (which says uses half of available cores, as I have plenty not doing much at that time of day. I don't have appropriate local storage for...

VM Backup sometimes causes huge CPU/RAM usage

I don't yet know a pattern for this, but in the last few weeks (I think) sometimes one or a few of my VMs will have problems when being backed up. I'm pretty sure the backups are completing just fine. I don't have Proxmox Backup Server present in this particular environment, so I'm doing full...

Looks like a request is already open on this topic and has been open since last year ;) -> https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4932

Yeah my original intent was more asking if the feature was present and I simply missed locating it ;P I'll go make the feature request there. :) Thanks!

Running Linux doesn't mean GUIs are verbotten. I have no need to be reminded of using Linux, I literally use it every waking hour of every day. Proxmox VE's value relies a lot on the conveniences of the GUI capabilities, it's not out of place to desire what I speak to here.

Thought so, thanks for the sanity check. Seems a bit tragic the new capability didn't include this kinda-obvious functionality ;P maybe in the future!

Yeah really was wanting something GUI since I'm sure with API and CLI aspects you can just wrap scripting around it to your heart's content.

    Tags, multi-add/remove

Anyone know of a way to add/remove multiple VMIDs from a tag in one batch go? I'm only really seeing the capabilities to add/remove a tag one VMID at a time. :(

Limit Proxmox VE update versions (testing purposes), best way?

Yes... that's why I asked them to upload it again... >.<
