Letzter Stand. i440fx mit v6.0 erstellt eine neue Netzwerkkarte, die man neu konfigurieren darf, aber die Aktivierung bleibt bestehen bislang nach 24h. Würde das also als SOLVED betrachten.. Danke für den Tip!

Ich teste das, und berichte hier. Blöd ist, das Win immer etwas braucht, bis es merkt das es neu aktiviert werden will.. ;)

OK, das heisst bei i440fx bleiben und nur von 5.1 auf 6 wechseln? Wobei Ende 2026 ja absehbar ist, das dann eh neue Hardware kommt damit auch Win Server 2019 in den VMs abgelöst wird. Mit der 6.x wird dann die Meldung auch verschwinden?

Hab das nicht probiert, dachte die ganze i440fx Reihe ist deprecated. Ziel war eigendlich zu verhindern, das nach einem PVE Update was ausfällt, und die Warnung im Log unten weg ist. Ist denn anzunehmen, das ein Wechsel von i440fx 5.1 nach zB. 6.1 keine Aktivierung triggert?

Nun, das PVE auf Stand zu halten, halte ich schon für sinnvoll. Ist eben die Frage, ob es konkrete Aussagen gibt, wann da was rausfliegt, und ob man das an den Paketen sehen kann. MS Konten extra anzulegen ist auch keine Option, ohne jetzt den Thread ganz gelesen zu haben. Naja, mal schauen..

Moin Ich betreibe ein paar Server2019 in einer vom Internet isolierten Umgebung, mit einem WSUS als Updatequelle. Die Server sind alle aktiviert. Habe jetzt nach dem Update auf PVE9.x auch die virt Hardware auf latest q35 umgestellt. Und as expected. Windows will wieder aktiviert werden. Nun...

I do most maintenance remotely via a tmux session, in case the ssh connection is lost or something else happens. Simple updates in the web GUI (NoVNC, Spice) could also open a tmux session per default to make the whole process more secure. Or is there a reason not to do so? -- Rüdiger

OK, works so far again. Used this howto, bec. in my case it needed to mount the lvm first. https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Recover_From_Grub_Failure Question is, when it is save to upgrade back to the latest grub2 ?

Maybe interesting. On a PBS, now running V4 ist the same hardware, same BIOS and the latest grub with no problem... Whats the difference...?

You mean booting one of the 5.1 Kernel in the Advanced Options from Grub Menu. None of the 5.x Kernel are booting..

Hi Is the a more detailed description to fix this. I'm running a some years old DELL R740, with a ssd raid with two disks, and had upgraded to v9... The 1st time for me, that a upgrade broke something... tnx in advance

Das passierte auch, wenn niemand was gemacht hat. Also der Desktop war angemeldet und es liefen Anwendungen. Und dann war auf einmal Feierabend. In den Logs standen Hinweise auf QXL.. Da das Ding laufen muss, habe ich ja umgestellt Virt-GPU. Seitdem läuft es. Ich bin jetzt ein paar Tage weg...

OK, interessant. Bei Plasma5 will er jetzt wissen, welchen Desktop und das soll auf dem entfernten gewählt werden. Also nix mit unbeaufsichtig. Aber mehr als bei Gnome, da geht ja garnichts.. Aber wir schweifen vom Topic ab.. ;)
