    Debian 9 / Proxmox 5 : memory bug ?

Maybe ZFS is different (Not sure if you use ZFS or LVM or?) because I don't have this problem with Debian 9 container (just tested with downloading 3 x 100 MB files) and free ram with free -h does not change.

[SOLVED] 5.0 failure to create partitions

Awesome :) I had to made a workaround with ZFS and a SATA disk (zfs attach, zfs detach), which is not ideal. Hoping this will get resolved before 5.1

Proxmox VE 5.0 Ryzen 7 1700X crashes daily

Then I don't know :( It has been rock stable for me.

Proxmox VE 5.0 Ryzen 7 1700X crashes daily

Is it qpossible that hetzner have not updated the BIOS (or none available) that is as new as the one I use (AGESA version 1.0.0.6a?) I have been running Ryzen for over a month now (I think) not one single crash.

Proxmox VE 5.0 Ryzen 7 1700X crashes daily

Are you by any chance running a nvidia GPU? - If so, please see: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/pve-5-0-locks-not-responding.35930/#post-176107

    Container w/ mount point snapshots

I don't get it, because when you make a backup with stop, it automatically excludes the mount point. Why can't snapshot do that?

    Container w/ mount point snapshots

Would like to know as well, it's quite annoying :(

Memory usage more than summary of VMs

You still have ZFS on top of HW raid, which is BAD! You should simply install ext4/lvm instead if you use a raid card.

    upgrade zfs-0.7.0

yes! Have been waiting for 0.7 for a while now.. Hope this goes into 5.1 along with all the "first release problems" of this version ;)

Proxmox 4.4 NMI watchdog and network failure

Don't install nvidia driver, no point in that for a server.. You just need to blacklist nouveau (the open source driver) - nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf - Paste this: blacklist nouveau blacklist lbm-nouveau options nouveau modeset=0 alias nouveau off alias lbm-nouveau off...

    install error

This happens for some reason, when there is no internet/network connection. Maybe proxmox dev's can tell us if this is just a bug? (it worked just fine in 4.4)
  12. vooze

    So here is the thing...

Do you have internet / network up and running? I had this problem when the server was not connected (it should NOT happen, but it does, probably just a bug)

    High CPU usage

You probably use ext4/lvm if you don't know. try running htop (install it first, apt-get install htop) or top, and you can see what is causing it.

    PVE 5.0 - locks/not responding

Thats, the problem :( The open source nvidia driver sucks (Nvidias fault) you need to blacklist that shit. You will get a lower resolution (who cares, this is a server :D), BUT it works, trust me. - nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf paste this: blacklist nouveau blacklist...

    High CPU usage

what CPU do you use? 2GB ram is also probably the bare minimum.

Are you using an Nvidia card?

    Can't install grub on /dev/nvme0n1

This is happening for all people with some (maybe all) NVMe drives. Like we said before, we have fully updates motherboard BIOS, and it works in 4.4. Please check https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1447 - You really need to look into this before 5.1 :)

    problem with hanging vzdump jobs

Like so: mp0: /tank/media,mp=/mnt/media mp1: /tank/timemachine,mp=/mnt/timemachine mp2: /tank/downloads,mp=/mnt/downloads mp3: /tank/backup,mp=/mnt/backup This is inside /etc/pve/lxc/100.conf You can do it in the GUI as well under mount point.

    problem with hanging vzdump jobs

What storage do you use? When I use local ZFS, it will exclude my mount points automatically.
