udo: Yes host time and hardware clock are correct. However, you were right. I was choosing the wrong options tab. Once I selected the RIGHT options tab and set to local its now working. thank you so much for your reply

Okay - found out that I was selecting wrong drive interface. Selected scsi and not installed. However, I am having a problem with network. I can go out but cannot come in. Does proxmox have a firewall turned on?
