    Can't upgrade from 7.1.7 to 7.2.x

I had run update and upgrade but now I found this command, 'apt full-upgrade' which I did not try. Is that what I need?

    Can't upgrade from 7.1.7 to 7.2.x

Is there no upgrade path from the gui or cli to go from one version to another? Do I actually have to use the CD to upgrade from 7.1 to 7.2? And if so, how safe is it? When the node boots back up and all the others are still 7.1, will there be any problems?

[TUTORIAL] Proxmox VE on ProLiant MicroServer Gen8

BTW, I'm running 7.1.7 on my gen8 sl230s blades and no problems to date.

[TUTORIAL] Proxmox VE on ProLiant MicroServer Gen8

I see those socket errors in my console. Console is not slow however other than being remote. I've been very nervous about upgrading from 7.1.7 to the latest proxmox fearing things will not go well. Nice to see someone share their experience, thanks for that.

    HP Agentless Management Service

Seems like you got further along than I did. I didn't pursue this any further since these are production servers and I decided that the monitoring was not worth breaking a host. I'll try to get back to this next time I fire up a non production blade. Maybe I can add to it at that point. Thank...

Not sure how to recover host from this?

I lucked out. I moved the drives over to another blade and everything fired up. As I suspected, hardware after all. Thanks for the info above however, I'm going to be sure to make notes of this. Thanks for your help, it was very appreciated.

Not sure how to recover host from this?

Using 7.2, Rescue Boot, I get the same. Image #3. Using the debug mode, it seems to run then reboots again. I think I am dealing with a hardware problem now. If so, I might have lost those vms since the ZFS is a raid one so not sure how I can mount one of the drives to try and recover the vms.

Not sure how to recover host from this?

Hi, thanks for your input. I don't understand it either but this is what has happened. I can try to upgrade but before doing that, I wanted to ask here to see how I might be able to fix this without losing the vms on this system. They didn't get backed up for some reason and losing them will...

Not sure how to recover host from this?

I had a power failure which took this server down. When it came back, it just keeps going in reboot after showing this screen for a second or two. I've read countless posts on all kinds of recovery but I've not seen anything like this so am not sure what I should be doing. I see the boot screen...

Can't get in or out of the cluster

Thank you, I never came across these commands while looking. I dumped the vms and rebuild but the vms remain in the list though will not start.

Can't get in or out of the cluster

Simple solution indeed. Thank you very much. Dumped, moved, rebuilt host then re-imported after joining cluster. The only problem is that it still shows in the cluster but it's not in the cluster. I've not been able to remove it from any cluster node so what can be done? I'd like to keep the...

Can't get in or out of the cluster

Hi, I was in a panic of having to move vms due to failing hardware and didn't follow the correct method. Some of the nodes are no longer here as the servers died. There is only one node that is important, the rest I don't care about. The cluster seems to be ok but I need to re-add this node...

Can't get in or out of the cluster

I have a 7.1.7 cluster where I needed to remove a node and did it from the command line. After that, I could not log into the nodes GUI anymore, only from the command line. I tried using the local authentication and it would not let me in but after a while, it suddenly did. From another node...

    Improperly replaced failing drive

I just went ahead and rebuilt the host. Next time, I'll follow the guidelines but it seems faster to rebuild than waiting for a drive to sync up after being replaced.

    Improperly replaced failing drive

Ah yes, I didn't look at the pool and sure enough, it is degraded. # zpool status rpool pool: rpool state: DEGRADED status: One or more devices could not be used because the label is missing or invalid. Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue functioning in a...

HD Space not adding up to real use

Guess I have to learn a bit more about zfs then. Thanks for all of the tips, noted and learning.

    Improperly replaced failing drive

I don't recall where but I had a link showing that when a drive fails, you need to run a few commands to properly replace it. Over the weekend, I accidentally replaced a failing drive in a 4 drive ZFS array without running any commands. Now, around 8hrs later, I'm back from the location and...

HD Space not adding up to real use

Hi, There are two SSD's and they are configured as ZFS. I see that the rpool is 953GB with 31.45GB used. The vm is stored on the local-zfs and shows a size of 68.72GB. Ok, so if I understand this correctly... What I'm seeing in the Summary is the proxmox host itself and it's / usage only. The...

HD Space not adding up to real use

Maybe I'm missing something but here is what I see. On the single vm installed on tihs proxmox server, this is the disk space usage. df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on devtmpfs 62G 0 62G 0% /dev tmpfs 62G 0 62G...
