    If you want it created as a file, you can create the storage on a ZFS pool, but just don't tell Proxmos it's ZFS storage. I can't address whether that would be good or bad for you, though.

    It appears (as would make sense) that the VM drives are created as zvols when you're creating them within a ZFS storage location.
