can I install Proxmox VE over network (tftp/PXE)?

Pff... you trying to give yourself a hard time there? The PVE .deb's were created by the Proxmox guys themselves, not by users, so one might think you'd end up with the same setup.

can I install Proxmox VE over network (tftp/PXE)?

As far as I know, yes. It installs a very basic Etch and deploys the PVE packages. Didn't try it myself though! If the box is on console, why not just try it?

can I install Proxmox VE over network (tftp/PXE)?

What you for sure could do it a Debian Etch netinstall over tftp/pxe and then install the .deb files provided by Proxmox. It *should* give you the same result. Haven't tested it myself though.

Ok, I'll run tests with them. Well... you want to have backupserver apart from your usual clusternodes, *BUT* why I would choose to install it inside a VM is flexibility - out of diskspace? Migrate to another host with larger disks. Of course that can be down without a VM, but I'm trying to...

    Dual boot?

Easiest way would be to add a 2nd disk later. Proxmox will grab as much diskspace as possible.

Dear Tom, Dietmar and other Proxmox staff members: First I'd like to state that you've done an EXCELLENT job in developing Proxmox to it's current state. We've only recently switched our environment to Proxmox, but we're very sure we're gonna keep the product for a long time. We do have a...
