    First you need to identify your bottleneck. Using tools like top, and more importantly, take a look at iostat while it's running. Run iostat -x 1 to see how heavy your disks are loaded. My bet is that iowait is high while %util on the spinning disks is at 100%.

If you can.. adjust the IP range you're using for storage to be different than management and then simply connect over the non-management IP range.     We've had issues with LLDP and there cards, turned out the card had a LLDP client in it's firmware. Disabling that solved a lot of weird issues like packetloss or in some cases simply not working.

    In my experience best for the buck are Samsung drives. Something like the PM893 will do the job perfect. Sure .. other brands might have better performance, but price/quality is great on these drives.

    Yes you can. But… limited set of OS’s is supported and you don’t have filesystem freeze and therefor no point in time/consistent backup.

    We're researching a storage solution to replace current solution. Few commercials vendors in play, but since we're huge fans of ZFS, using ZFS over iscsi might be an option as well. Is anyone here on the forum using it in production? Any issues you ran into?

    Yes, you replace it safely, but first remove the log & cache from your pool, then replace the disk and add them again.

    You could at linstor as well. Also hypeeconverged, but performs a whole lot better than ceph.

    vm -> hardware -> disk Actions button on top, click resize. That will resize your block device, but you also have to resize the filesystem in your vm. Google will help you.
